Hello classmates! This will be my first reunion, and after 55 years I think it's about time, don't you?

After graduating high school I attended Seattle Pacific University. During commencement ceremonies I met my soon-to-be-husband, Dick. He later confessed that he'd had a crush on me in college but didn't know how to pronounce my name to ask me out. Imagine that?! This December we will celebrate our 49th anniversary.

After a brief stint teaching music for Seattle Public Schools, I thought my roommate had a much more exciting life working for an airline so I decided to pursue that career. I worked as a flight attendant for Flying Tiger Line for 23 years transporting military personnel around the world. It was a wonderfully fun and rewarding career.

In 1992 my wings were clipped. I then worked for a local advertising agency for the next 20 years. During that time I also became active in our Bainbridge Island community volunteering at The Bloedel Reserve, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Hospice of Kitsap County, and at our church.

Just 3 years ago, I had a life-changing event when I fell in our home. This fall resulted in a broken neck and a partial spinal injury. So, in the blink of an eye I went from leading a very fun, active life, to viewing the world as a quadraplegic in a wheelchair. I am happy to say I feel I have adjusted well to my new life. I have a great support system and have been able to continue most of my volunteering. Through this experience I have also made many wonderful new friends.

And to you, my OLD friends, I look forward to seeing you in September!
