June 19, 1946 (801) 510-6152 Longovilo, G60 and R6 San Pedro, Melipilla CL Retired but on LDS mission to Jul 2015 Married 7
We have been in Chile for 3 months of 18 months teaching English to workers, employees, high school students while liiving on a 17,000+ acre farm with 7,000 acres being six million olive  trees.  It is high density rows with 750 trees per acre and machine picking with a grape type harvester.  The olives are used for extra virgin olive oil for export.  The port is only 50 miles away.

We have 7 children and 21 grandchildren with one more due by the reunion time.  I retired from the Air Force, retired from the state of Utah and 2 years ago from the Department of Defense working with United Nations inspectors on liason with the destruction processes of chemical weapons in Utah completed in 2012.

We will live back in Kaysville, Utah after our mission.  We also have 20 acres in southern Utah with a 3 story cabin to enjoy family and national parks, hiking and beautiful scenery and friends.  I have planted over 1,200 trees (pine, fir, aspen and other plants).  We are close to the Grand Canyon and Colorado River and tributaries and close to our children in California.  In Kaysville, we have 5 children living close by, which means, grandchildren, also.

(503) 645-9458 19797 NW Rock Creek Drive Portland OR US 97229 RN, Senior Care Consultant; Instructor and Consultatnt in Vascular Disease www.seniorcareorganizer.com Married 2
Everyone else has a 50 year reunion... certainly not us, right?  It's amazing for sure.  As many of you can attest, it's been a busy 50 years, but I've loved pretty much every minute.  I have had great opportunities, have met so many fantastic people along the way... and God has provided so many blessings as well.  Here's the highlights.....

I specialized in vascular disease (arteries and veins other than the heart) starting in the early 1970's and continue to work as a Consultant and Instructor in the field of vascular ultrasound.  Some of the opportunities  included: private surgical scrub nurse for vascular surgeons, consulting services such as: setup and organization of vascular ultrasound testing services, personnel training, lectures, presentations; for the past nearly 20 years worked for the vascular surgeons at Oregon Health and Science University in various roles:  Supervisor of the Vascular Testing Services, Clinic Nurse, Research Nurse, Instructor in Surgery (Resident training) and although I have retired 3 times, but I still do some special projects.  (I just can't sit still, I guess).  I continue to provide presentations for vascular review courses throughout the year (22 years now), had the privilege of co-authoring some vascular books, the latest 5th edition is due out in August and that will be the last.

Finally, I helped care for my folks for the last 10+ years of their lives and during that time learned alot about senior care issues and finding out that there are many thousands in the same boat I was.  So, I have been a Senior Care Consultant since 2008, providing information through workshops and the website.  I had the privilege of publishing the Senior Care Organizer, which is an interactive PDF available as a download.  It's for those who are caring for aging parents, and it's for those seniors who are healthy now, but need to prepare their information etc. so their children will know what they want in the future should things change.  If you're interested or know someone who might be,  please take a look at the website www.seniorcareorganizer.com for helpful articles, links and info about the Organizer.  I hope you don't mind my plug.

I have been blessed to be married to Mel for almost 33 years.  At the time, he was a widower with 2 boys aged 12 and 15.  Both sons are married and live in the Redmond, WA area.  Mel works part time; isn't ready to quit yet.  He enjoys working with his clients as a financial planner/money manager.  He is an avid golfer.  I didn't pick up that sport, but it's good for him to have something to do with the guys.  I play the piano and love to do my walking thing too.  I don't have a hobby ... but love doing my' senior care thing.'  We are looking at possibly moving to the sun for the last third of our lives -- Arizona possibly.  Any thoughts from those who live in Arizona?

Church activities (since 1987 - Portland Christian Center, Portland, OR) are varied but include leading the Issues Committee, providing senior care workshops, volunteering at a non-profit that helps support Vets' needs, community service and previously, the choir.  Mel is just as busy with ushering, Men's groups et al.

I apologize for the length of this.  I love what I do and can't help but be enthusiastic about it.  However, the best part of all the years I've spent in this field, are the opportunities I've had to share my love for the Lord with others - sometimes directly, other times indirectly - whether it be patients, families, students, physicians, peers.  I have met some wonderful people over the years.. and I am so thankful for that.  I wish I could attend the reunion, but unfortunately, it doesn't work out for me to do so.  I'm sure it will be so much fun to get together.... May God bless you in a special way.  Love to you, Claudia    P.S.  Thank you, Gary Hoff and whoever else helped with this website.  It truly is terrific.  Will it stay up awhile after the Reunion?
